The daddy long-legs fishing fly or crane fly is a semi-aquatic insect, the daddy long-legs fly can be found throughout the summer and autumn, but is most prolific at the end of the summer. Trout will take these even when there are no natural daddy long-legs around. Due to it being a weak flier they are constantly blown onto the water, so the daddy long-legs flies are a big part of the trouts diet. They are equally effective on still waters and rivers.
